About the Carpal Tunnel Service

Midlands Community Services provides community-based carpal tunnel assessment and carpal tunnel decompression surgery. We have provided this service for many years and our clinical and administrative teams have substantial experience supporting patients through assessment, surgery and recovery.

Clinical support and governance

The service is supported by Mr Richard Dias, Consultant Upper Limb Surgeon. Our lead surgeon, A Ahmed, is a member of the Association of Surgeons in Primary Care (ASPC) and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

We participate in the ASPC national audit process. Our nurses, healthcare assistants and administrators are experienced in the carpal tunnel pathway and provide support before and after surgery.

Your care

Patients are assessed individually. Surgery is not automatically the right option for everyone, and your symptoms, examination findings, any nerve conduction studies and your preferences are considered before a treatment plan is agreed.
